Meet Katie

My name is Katie and I am the wife of an amazing man and my high school sweetheart, Steve. Together we have a beautiful baby girl, who is now a busy almost 2-year-old toddler and a sheltie/shepherd pup named Sammi.
I am passionate about learning how to incorporate good nutrition into daily life in a flavorful and exciting way and inspiring others to do the same! I love everything about living a healthy lifestyle from grocery shopping for fresh food, learning about nutrition, experimenting in the kitchen, and baking healthy delicious treats for my family!
Another of my passions is decorating and organizing. I get so much satisfaction from making our house a home and our favorite place to be. I am constantly moving furniture around, adding decorative accents, playing with color and pattern, and keeping each room feeling fresh.
My final passion and probably my first passion is my relationships—both friendships and family. I’ve been blessed with two wonderful, supportive families (mine and Steve’s), and amazing friends that constantly challenge me to be a better person—kinder, more generous, more patient, and selfless. I want my life on earth to count and don’t want to spend it just spinning my wheels making myself happy, my friends help me stay on track.
A few more tidbits:
- I have spent my entire life in Washington. I graduated from Whitworth College (now University) with a degree in Speech Communications for Public Relations. After three marketing/PR internships for an engineering firm, advertising company, and government office, I landed a great job as a technical writer for a business development firm with offices in Spokane, Seattle, and DC and have been with the company ever since. I now work part-time from home so I can be with Emma during the day.
- I love the Lord with all my heart and live to serve and please him! My husband and I plan on raising our babies to love Jesus too!
- I have always had a heart for and desire to help the unhappily overweight individual. The person who can’t seem to shed those unwanted pounds (whether 20 or 200) no matter how hard they try.
- I love that my city has four distinct seasons, because when it comes to seasonal decorating…you can’t hold me down. No, I’m really serious. I get on a decorating high and there is no stopping me.
- I love living an active lifestyle and try to incorporate activity into every day and everyday life. We have a great gym membership with awesome classes (hello Zumba!!), but more than that I love to just get outside and go for a long (1-2 hour) walk, run, rollerblade, hike, play tennis, basketball, soccer…Exercise makes me feel so good!
- I am 25 (July 6 is my b-day)!!
This blog is here to help you live your best life as I aspire to live mine. Thank you for visiting!

It’ll be nice to follow your thoughts and family adventures since the 50 miles between us make our reunions a little too few and far between!

How delightful! I actually completed a degree from EWU in community health and worksite wellness and got certified in yoga instruction and personal training. It is sooo fun to help others with these types of life issues! (and I can tell you agree!) what a blessing to discover a kindred spirit in it who loves the Lord too! Hope your week is wonderful!
